COVID-19 booster vaccination programme

Across Somerset the NHS and its partners are working extremely hard to roll out the COVID-19 booster vaccination programme to our communities.

All adults are eligible from Monday 13 December, and you will be able to book via the National Booking System from Wednesday 15 December.

You can book your booster for 3 months from the date of second vaccine, and you can access the National Booking System to book the appointment from 2 months.

We are working at pace to increase the availability of appointments so that there are plenty of options for people on the National Booking System. Some local vaccination services may will also contact patients directly.

New appointments are being added every day across the vaccination services. Further availability will come online from Wednesday 15 December.

We will be working with all of our sites to take further steps to increase what they can offer again, including opening later and on more days.

All of these appointments will be added to the National Booking System and so we encourage everyone who is aged 18 and over, is yet to have their booster and who is approaching 3 months from your second vaccine to use the National Booking System to arrange your appointment when you are able to do so.  Please do not contact the surgery as we are unable to make bookings or assist with matters held on the National database.

Face Coverings in Healthcare Settings

Please may we remind our patients and patient representatives that everyone accessing or visiting healthcare settings must continue to wear a face covering and follow social distancing rules.

To all our patients and representatives, throughout the pandemic we have strived to make the surgery as safe as possible for our patients, staff and visitors.  We have remained open throughout and will continue to do so. 
Please continue to wear your mask when visiting the surgery.  Please use the hand sanitisers available and keep your distance from others.  As a healthcare provider we have sick and vulnerable patients coming to see us (remember some of these cannot have the vaccines) they need to be protected, so it would be wrong of us to remove the precautions we have in place.
The pandemic is not over and COVID 19 has not gone.  Please help us to continue to keep you, our staff and wider population all safe.

NHS COVID Pass - What you need to know

Please see the COVID pass information sheet for more information on the NHS COVID Pass which shows a patient's COVID-19 vaccination details or test results and is needed for foreign travel or attendance at events in England asking for proof of COVID-19 status.

We are aware of some instances in which a person’s vaccination event/s may appear “missing” on the National Immunisation Management system (NIMs). In most circumstances, the vaccination record is not missing, it is simply delayed or being held within the system until the problem associated with it has been resolved.

Please do not ask your GP practice to update your vaccination records as they are not able to do so.

Common causes for “missing” records can include:

  • When a 1st vaccination is administered overseas

  • When someone registered with a Welsh / Scottish / Irish / Isle of Man GP is vaccinated in an English vaccination centre

  • When mandatory fields are not populated correctly in the point of care system

  • When the vaccination record is made on paper and has not yet been entered

Stogursey Branch Surgery

Due to COVID-19 the Thursday afternoon surgery at the Church Rooms has been CANCELLED for the foreseeable future.  Please contact the practice on the main line if you require to speak to a doctor.  The closure will be reviewed regularly based on the advice issued by the UK Government.

Medication collections from the village Spar shop has recommenced. Prescriptions are delivered to the shop on a Thursday afternoon.
